Python is only used as build tool these days so it is not necessary to ensure consistency across telepathy packages.

Part of: https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/issues/108938
meta = with stdenv.lib;
is a widely used pattern. We want to slowly remove
the `stdenv.lib` indirection and encourage people
to use `lib` directly. Thus let’s start with the meta
field.
This used a rewriting script to mostly automatically
replace all occurances of this pattern, and add the
`lib` argument to the package header if it doesn’t
exist yet.
The script in its current form is available at

treewide replacement of
stdenv.mkDerivation rec {
name = "*-${version}";
version = "*";
to pname
|
|
camelCase package name was a huge inconsistency in GNOME package set.
|
|
Building glib with selinux support caused the build to fail due to selinux being
specificed in `Required.private` in gio-2.0.pc. `pkgconfigUpstream` isn't
patched to handle `Required.private` properly.

This makes the command ‘nix-env -qa -f. --arg config '{skipAliases =
true;}'’ work in Nixpkgs.
Misc...
- qtikz: use libsForQt5.callPackage
This ensures we get the right poppler.
- rewrites:
docbook5_xsl -> docbook_xsl_ns
docbook_xml_xslt -> docbook_xsl

* treewide: http -> https sources
This updates the source urls of all top-level packages from http to
https where possible.
* buildtorrent: fix url and tab -> spaces

The previous update attempt (76f9a4d7111a362035ee741cd08ea22a27bbd6bc) did not change the hash 😞

Include all linux platforms.
|
|
"platforms.gnu" has been linux-only since at least 17.03:
$ nix eval -f channel:nixos-17.03 lib.platforms.gnu
[ "i686-linux" "x86_64-linux" "armv5tel-linux" "armv6l-linux" "armv7l-linux" "aarch64-linux" "mips64el-linux" ]
Unlike platforms.linux, platforms.gnu indicates "must use glibc"
which for the most part is not intended.
Replacing platforms.gnu with platforms.linux would be the same "today"
but let's err on preserving existing behavior and be optimistic
about platforms these packages work on.

Semi-automatic update generated by https://github.com/ryantm/nix-update tools.
This update was made based on information from https://repology.org/metapackage/telepathy-gabble/versions.
These checks were done:
- built on NixOS
- Warning: no binary found that responded to help or version flags. (This warning appears even if the package isn't expected to have binaries.)
- found 0.18.4 with grep in /nix/store/pg936ixgiw96xqsrdzbwc1civylmy1q5-telepathy-gabble-0.18.4
- found 0.18.4 in filename of file in /nix/store/pg936ixgiw96xqsrdzbwc1civylmy1q5-telepathy-gabble-0.18.4

Importantly, this included regenerating pkgs/servers/x11/xorg, to
clobber the old sed.

It's sad, but he's been inactive for the last five years.
Keeping such people in meta.maintainers is counter-productive.

Our kdelibs4 package does not come from KDE 4, so per upstream's request I am
moving it out of the kde4 set.
|
|
and let the telepathy plugins use it.
|
|
Without the patch, the build fails with recent versions of Pidgin.
|

|
Fixed all 'dbus_glib}' references too.
|
|
Upstream changes to the build system required adjusting many packages'
dependencies. On the Nixpkgs side, we no longer propagate the dependency
on cmake (to reduce closure size), so downstream dependencies had to be
adjusted for most packages that depend on kdelibs.

This reverts commit cd52c044568bdf1108428698048a9af92dc0b625 and
others.
Managing certificates (including revoking certificates and adding
custom certificates) becomes extremely painful if every package in the
system potentially depends on a different copy of cacert. Also, it
makes updating cacert rather expensive.
